Macarons

I cannot recognize my blog. I forgot I change the layout sometime back with the intention of doing some major reno later. For awhile I just stared at my blog thinking why is someone posting my stuff on their blog. Ha ha, as if...

I had a taste of macarons the other day. For something so small, it is quite expensive, $2.00 - $3.00 per piece, the same price of a salmon maki. Unlike a salmon maki that can fill your stomach, this one leaves u craving for more. You can make almost any macaron flavour, which makes me wonder why there is NO DURIAN flavour macaron. Maybe only in Bolehland and Lion City.

My aunt loves macarons. We bought a box of 5 (above) at Knox City some time ago, because they were selling at $1.50 or something. There were a lot of flavours to choose from and we settled on passion fruit, coffee, chocolate, pistachio and strawberry (I think). It was SWEEEET, like Julie Biscuit accidentally drop into a bowl of honey and turn soggy. Checked the recipe, it's sugar, sugar and MORE sugar.

I have enough problems resisting my favorites fat food and really don't need the small macaron to complicate my diet life. Luckily, this dessert doesn't appeal to me. Thank God for little favors :)
